Stakeholder Input Meeting Focus Area A (7/14/2016)

The South Bend Brownfield Coalition (SBBC) welcomed stakeholders to the Civil Rights Heritage Center at 5:30PM on July 14, 2016 to discuss the outcome of months of data mining conducted through a US EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant.  Multiple public data sets reviewed identified sites of interest and brownfield conditions concentrated West Side of South Bend.  The SBBC sought stakeholder to review and provide feedback on the 4 Areas of Opportunity identified within Focus Area A, and specific sites of interest within these neighborhoods. Community concerns noted at the meeting included brownfield site prioritization, integration this effort into ongoing redevelopment efforts, concern for urban waterways, and questions about a nearby Superfund Site cleanup.
