Focus Area “A” Stakeholder Input Meeting – July 14, 2016
Community stakeholders joined the South Bend Brownfield Coalition and its Technical Project Team at the Civil Rights Heritage Center at 1040 W. Washington Street South Bend, IN – 5:30PM on Thursday, 7/14/2016.
The Coalition enjoyed discussing the outcomes of the EPA grant funded brownfield inventory and data driven prioritization process. The Technical Project Team presented the data driven brownfield identification and prioritization process, and provided a look at Focus Area “A”, and why this area is of primary focus for the Coalition in its efforts within South Bend. We also asked for feedback in terms of sites of greatest interest to the community within Focus Area A, or elsewhere. The Brownfield Planning process examines those that may be more latent, or hidden, and that pose challenges for entire areas.
Ongoing work on “no-brainer” brownfield sites continues. These are sites that have been previously identified, or that portend benefits for prompt redevelopment. If you know of a site like this please contact us!
