This website acts as the Public Engagement Portal to help connect the public with the South Bend Brownfield Coalition's efforts. From late 2014 through 2017 we will efficiently identify, prioritize, plan and assess brownfield conditions throughout St. Joseph County, IN.

Community Connectivity is key – one of the items that members of the Brownfield Coalition reviewed on the initial August, 2015 Brownfield Bicycle Tour was how different portions of the South Bend and Mishawaka community were linked, and where linkages were missing. We will be continue to examine this issue through the course of the grant funded Brownfield Planning tasks, and beyond. Connecting the dots in Community Connectivity can: improve social cohesion by bringing neighborhoods together, improve safety, encourage healthy active transportation modes, and drive economic development investment through infrastructure investment.
